Recruiting Presenters

Once the program is running, recruitment can be done differently. If there are only a handful of women to replace, then you may want to consider asking department advisors directly for suggestions for women. If more women need to be replaced, a formal recruitment process like was done in the first year might be a better process.

UWWI suggests

When we started our second year, we only needed to recruit 4 women. We noticed that out of the 10 engineering departments at the UW, we had participants from only 5 or 6 departments. We approached Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technical Communications and asked them first if they had women who would be interested. We had the women fill out an application, and then brought them right up to speed.
