In the event of an earthquake, fire, or other emergency occurring during class time, the Instructor and/or Teaching Assistant are responsible for the safety of their students, and for the evacuation of the building.
We have gathered together several resource and training materials that are designed to prepare you for an emergency and have included them on this page. Please read and become familiar with the procedures and information. Share this information with your students at the beginning of the quarter, and go over the building's evacuation procedures. Many of the resource documents can be printed and inserted into your class folders or notebooks, so that you will have the information with you should you be caught in an emergency situation.
- Locate and read the multi-colored Emergency Procedures poster that is posted in all classrooms.
Note: If this poster is not in your classroom, please call EH&S Fire Safety at 206-543-0465 or 206-616-3778. - Read the Classroom Emergency Procedures document prepared by the UW Environmental Health and Safety Department.
- Read the document Emergency Evacuation for Persons with Disabilities.
