The UW Young Engineering Professionals Mentorship Program connects current UW engineering students with young professionals to teach undergraduates about professional life in industry. The program aims to encourage professional development and establish personal connections between the mentors and mentees through the combination of structured on campus mentoring and informal, unstructured off campus events.
The ultimate goal of the program is to enhance the educational experiences of UW engineering students by preparing them for the professional world through knowledge sharing of current professionals.
Mentorship Opportunities:
If you have graduated with your undergraduate Engineering degree within the last five years and are interested in sharing your “lessons learned” and your passion for engineering, think about becoming a mentor!
UW students have said that career advice means so much more to them when it comes from a potential colleague vs. a recruiter or hiring manager. Our “Career Center @ Engineering” is seeking young professionals to partake in a variety of professional development events for both undergraduate & graduate students. Programming examples include: Etiquette Dinner, Women’s Networking Breakfast, Industry Networking Night panels, hosts for job shadows, & mentorship. Volunteers will be contacted with opportunities throughout the year, with no minimum participation requirement. For more information or to be added to the list, please fill out this survey if you are interested.
