Bethany Gordon joins Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Virginia where she worked to improve design processes for more equitable built environments. At UVA she received multiple research and teaching fellowships including being named an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and GAANN Teaching Fellow.
Her research utilizes behavioral science to help professional and frontline designers engage with equity in the design of large-scale infrastructure systems. At the UW, Gordon plans to develop interventions of behavior biases for infrastructure designers to advance climate equity and improve the resilience of infrastructure systems.
